Dexter Goes Respectable

I’m extremely proud to officially announce here on that the talented Mr Dexter Fletcher is the narrator on Respectable, my forthcoming Mary documentary.

Dexter Fletcher Mary MillingtonDexter has been acting since he was a child; one of his very first movies was Bugsy Malone in 1976 and he has subsequently appeared in over a hundred different TV series and films, including David Lynch’s The Elephant Man, Derek Jarman’s Caravaggio and Matthew Vaughn’s Layer Cake. His incredibly mellifluous voice can be heard on dozens of television adverts and BBC documentaries, and in recent years he has branched out into directing, helming two hugely successful independent movies, Wild Bill (2012) and Sunshine on Leith (2013). I’m thrilled to have Dexter on board for my film, as he’s genuinely one of the nicest performers I’ve ever worked with, and his voice suits the tempo of the movie perfectly. The photo here shows Dexter and myself at the famous Air-Edel Recording Studios, in central London.

Respectable will now be released in 2015, the year Mary would’ve turned 70 years of age. There’s lots of exciting announcements yet to come, and I can’t wait to reveal more over the coming months…
