I was saddened to hear this week that writer Chris O’Loughlin died on 21st November, after a brave fight with cancer. Sometimes you can ‘know’ somebody without ever meeting them and I never actually met Chris, but our paths first crossed fourteen years ago, when he wrote a lovely review of my first book Come Play with Me – The Life and Films of Mary Millington on Amazon. His review is still there to read, and we corresponded for several years afterwards. Chris, from Brisbane, Australia, was a self-confessed fan of all British sex comedies. Chris especially loved the Confessions films, Eskimo Nell and anything starring Mary. But he pretty much adored all British exploitation movies and wrote enthusiastically and intelligently for numerous websites and fanzines. Chris was a funny, talented man, who was respected by many, and will be much missed. My thoughts are with his wife and family.
