I’m very proud to announce that I’ve been collaborating with cult British filmmaker Pete Walker on a couple of upcoming DVD releases. The first of which is the reissue of Pete’s debut big screen movie I Like Birds (aka For Men Only). Unseen in this country since its release in 1967, the film was one of Britain’s first ever ‘sex comedies’, and has probably become the most sought-after title in Pete’s celebrated back catalogue.
I Like Birds tells the story of a young fashion journalist (David Kernan, later to star in 1972’s Carry On Abroad) who unwittingly starts working on a naughty glamour magazine, secretly being published by a hypocritical ‘moral crusader’ (Derek Aylward from Come Play with Me). The recently-remastered film has been transferred from a really gorgeous looking new print and will be released on DVD in March this year.
