The latest little chapter of saucy 8mm history to be cleaned and digitally remastered at Pinewood Studios is Bustman’s Holiday, a 1979 production directed by George Harrison Marks. It was shot entirely in and around the swimming pool at the Julius Caesar Hotel in Paddington, the same location of Marks’ earlier 8mm loop Arabian Knights. The film starred big-busted Mancunian Nicky Stanton plus formerly-‘legit’ actor Milton Reid who, just two years earlier, had appeared in the James Bond movie, The Spy Who Loved Me.
During the course of 1979, Milton appeared in three ‘adults only’ productions for his good friend Marks – Arabian Knights, Schoolgirl Holiday (both hardcore) and this tamer one. Bustman’s Holiday was actually an off-shoot from Peaches magazine, the big-boob lovers’ bible, which enjoyed its British heyday in the late-1970s and early-1980s. A gap-toothed Milton enjoys the most sexually explicit role of his career, even doing an eye-popping full frontal, when he jumps into the pool to join the girls. As noted elsewhere on this blog, Milton’s participation in porn pretty much ended his acting career. He graduated from big budget movies shot at Pinewood and Shepperton to the often-secretive world of 8mm; it was a sad coda to the actor’s long cinematic life. “Milton just loved to work,” George Harrison Marks told me in 1997. “He never liked to turn down any job.”
